Mid-Century French, Octagonal Black Wrought Iron Lantern

This is a very large porch black-painted wrought iron French lantern circa 1950s. The lantern holds 4 light fittings accessible through one of the facet-mounted door.
The lantern is highly decorative with ample forged scrolls with generous curves and acanthus leaves.
