Early 18th Century Large Marriage Oak Trunk With a Vaulted Lid and Carvings, German
This 1727 oak trunk is of magnificent craftsmanship, showcasing intricate carvings with great attention to detail. Crafted from solid oak, the trunk is sturdy and substantial, reflecting the robustness and durability characteristic of furniture from that era, it retains its original lock and key. Two central black and white inlaid stars command attention, serving as the focal point of the design. The front of the trunk is carved with the name of the carpenter Gescke Möllers. There is an internal small additional storage space with a lid on the inside of the trunk. There are signs of wear like cracks or losses which are commensurate with age.
