An elegant pair of English plaster wall lights dating from the 1960s, designed in the form of large scallop shells and inspired by an earlier George IV-period example. The deeply moulded shells feature pronounced ribbed detailing, with a central trail of decorative shells and foliage, supported by an elaborate acanthus-leaf base. Finished in an aged white plaster, the sculptural form is particularly effective when illuminated, casting a warm, indirect light upwards.
