A highly decorative pair of large Dandelion, or “Snowball”, crystal chandeliers, designed by Emil Stejnar for Rupert Nikoll, circa 1950s, Austrian. These iconic mid-century chandeliers feature dramatic spherical arrangements of slender brass stems, each tipped with faceted crystal elements, delicate crystal flowers and spherical accents. The dense radial composition creates a wonderfully sculptural, almost organic appearance, reminiscent of a dandelion in seed or a shimmering snowball. The pair is particularly unusual for its contrasting metal finishes: one chandelier retains a dark brass frame, while the other has a warmer, gold-toned brass frame. This variation adds decorative contrast while maintaining the pair's distinctive design and character. The chandeliers retain their original character and decorative appeal. Some crystal elements are missing from several stems throughout the pair. These losses are relatively minor compared with the overall density of the design and do not detract from the impressive appearance or visual impact of the chandeliers.
