Pair of 1950s Fat Lava Candlesticks by Marius Giuge from Vallauris, French

This is a pair of collectable French fat lava ceramic candlesticks from the 1950s, made in Vallauris by Marius Giuge. Each piece features a sculptural, textured design with a bold, organic form typical of the mid-century style from the region. The dark glaze with white accents gives them a striking contrast and a handmade feel. Vallauris is a village in the south of France which was greatly influence by Picasso whom established a workshop in that village. Each candlestick is stamped.
